Job Description

Joinery Estimator | Dagenham, Essex | Full Time | Salary will be circa £65,000 dependant on candidateEstablished in 1991, our client has achieved recognition as one of the leading specialists in bespoke joinery, providing clients, architects, and interior designers with products of exceptional quality and reliability.The company undertakes projects of varying scale, the largest to date being valued at over £8.25m. our client is customer-oriented and is acutely aware of the importance of quality.Their projects succeed not only because of manufacturing skills but through active project management from pre-production through to site installation is crucial to the successful delivery of every project.The company is ideally situated in London to service projects within Central London and the South East. Over the last 24 years, they have achieved recognition as one of the leading specialists in bespoke joinery, providing clients, architects, and interiordesigners with exceptional quality and reliable products.The company turns over £10m and works with leading names such as Overbury plc, Lend Lease Mace, CWC, BW and ISGAre you the right person for the job

  • Ideally, you will have a background in Joinery (min 5 years), and experience on the bench and on-site
  • Alternatively, a quantity surveying background for a joinery company
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A calm and methodical approach
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 360 with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Self-motivated and a team player
  • Proven track record of successful awards and or projects
What will your role look like
  • Assess tenders, break down the packages i.e., joinery, doors, wall cladding and ceilings
  • Study the drawings, send out RFQs to subcontractors and compare their quotes
  • Return RFI sheets to the MC and review the feedback
  • Build pricing schedules and cost tender packages, ensuring the costs are relevant to the tender specification and finish documents
  • Formulate the project preliminaries and clearly qualify the submission
  • Compile the BOQ or CSA and balance the costing sheet with the submission
  • Investigate possible VE options, and supply design sketch proposals
  • Compile tender specific presentations for client meetings that set the company from the pack
  • Negotiate the BAFO to LAFO process to secure the works
  • Once the project has been awarded, spend time handing the project over to the QS and project management team so they understand the work completely
