Closing date: 9:00am Monday 7 September 2020The opportunity This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as Employer Engagement Manager in the careers and work experience service. With around 2,000 work experience placements a year, plus a comprehensive programme of employer engagement and careers events for young people, building a strong network of supportive employers is fundamental to the successful development and delivery of our service.As Employer Engagement Manager you will make this happen. Working closely with the head of service and with key external partners, you will engage employers across London to grow our network and to ensure it reflects the wider workplace, emerging careers, and the aspirations of our young people.You will be responsible for developing leads with new employers and for managing and building relationships with existing employers in our network. By maintaining and analysing records of who we are working with, you will help us to target employer recruitment to address careers and industries which are currently underrepresented. You will also be responsible for undertaking health and safety checks with employers to confirm their suitability to host work experience placements.In the context of a growing school population, and of schools expectations of placements which reflect a range of careers and the changing world of work, this is a demanding challenge, but a highly rewarding one.Barking and Dagenham has the youngest, fastest growing population in London. Majority owned by local schools, we are a not-for-profit company delivering a growing range of services for schools and the council.The candidate A persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will have a track record of successfully engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, ideally across the private and public sectors.
