Would you like to work as an expert and leader in your field in one of the most beautiful coastal areas of the UKWe are looking for an exceptional Pharmacist who has significant clinical experience in caring for Older People and strategic leadership skills to drive an integrated approach to excellent pharmaceutical care for our frail elderly population across Swansea Bay.The Consultant Pharmacist for Older People is an exciting new post for the Health Board. You will work across acute, primary and community care, in close collaboration Pharmacy teams, consultant geriatricians, primary care professionals, GP clusters and mental health teams. You will lead the integrated Older People’s Pharmacy Group, acting as the driver to achieve a coordinated and structured approach to improve the pharmacy delivery model for older people.Swansea Bay University Health Board has strong links with Swansea University. The new School of Pharmacy will provide a key opportunity for the post holder to lead and manage research in pharmaceutical care for frail elderly and act as a role model to inspire colleagues to undertake research in this area by providing support and leadership. You will also have peer support and opportunities for networking with other Consultant Pharmacists within SBUHB and across Wales.This role can be a development Lead Pharmacist post (8b) to allow a suitable candidate to work towards achieving the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Consultant Pharmacist Credentialing. The post holder will commit to completing the Consultant Pharmacist Credentialing Process and subsequent RPS assessment. When fully credentialed, the post-holder will be re-banded to band 8c and can use the Consultant Pharmacist title.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
