Job Description

The Advanced MS CNS will work as an integral member of the regional Neuro-Inflammatory Team, which covers South West Wales.The Advanced MS CNS will act as an expert in MS nursing care, promoting good practice in the diagnosis, treatment and care of people with MS in order to provide a seamless service.The post holder will be essential in providing counselling and education to patients eligible for treatment with Siponimod. Manage and monitor in order to assess the clinical effectiveness of treatment and be responsible for reporting, recording and managing any side effects of treatment.They will be the first point of contact for patients in relapse and use highly specialist knowledge to identify causative factors of relapse reducing hospital admissions.The Advanced MS CNS will use evidence based, holistic patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate highly specialist interventions designed to maximise the individuals function independently and maintain quality of life. This will be achieved by concentrating on ensuring that services and care for people with MS are optimised, through: -

  • Coordinating comprehensive care between different teams and organisations
  • Working autonomously and creatively across boundaries to implement change and improve patient care
  • Establishing and refreshing clear care pathways for people with MS
  • Promoting and providing individualised holistic care to people with MS
