Our client is a leading engineering company based in Blaenavon, and they are currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join their team .Duties:* Responsible for the Health, Safety & Welfare of Employees* Managing & Updating the companys general Health & Safety in the Workplace on a day-to day basis, incl. Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Fire Safety, etc.* Document and investigate all accidents/investigations* Deliver toolbox talks on health and safety issues to all levels* Advising Managers, Foremen and Employees on current Health & Safety LegislationRequirements:* Candidates should ideally hold a NEBOSH General certificate with experience in all areas of workplace Health & Safety* Candidates should ideally have experience in a heavy manufacturing environment where machining, profiling and fabricating/welding occur. Knowledge of a paint plant would also be advantageous* Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft Office packages is essential* Applicants must be approachable, very hands on and be comfortable in spending time on the shop floor* A calm, assertive and firm attitude is vital with the ability to work under pressure and without direct supervisionHours of Work:* Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:00 (1/2 Hr Lunch Unpaid)* Friday 08:00 - 14:30 (1/2 Hr Lunch Unpaid)* Minimum 40 Hours per WeekSalary:The position is monthly paid and wages are negotiable, however, qualified and experienced candidates can expect to be paid an annual salary of £27,500.00 per year.Pension:The Company currently runs an auto-enrolment pension scheme with Royal London, with a total contribution being made of 9% (4.5% employee & 4.5% employer).Holidays:21 Days Annual Leave + 8 Bank/Public Holidays per calendar year (Jan - Dec).Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
