Acorn is looking for a Graduate Project Engineer to join our clients team, working directly for the Engineering Project Manager, supporting the development of complex and novel engineering solutions.The Graduate Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient and successful assembly and testing of the special projects/On Track Machines. The graduate project engineer will bridge the gap between the design team and assembly and testing teams. Therole requires technical leadership of activities in an efficient manner to ensure first of type and subsequent modules are delivered in accordance with the project programmes. Its envisaged the role will ensure the as-builts meet the design requirements,or in cases of deviation, will liaise with all stakeholders (design and assembly leads) to find a sufficient solution.The graduate project engineers main responsibility is to ensure the production, assembly & test phases of the special project division of GOS runs at an efficiency as high as reasonably possible.Job Duties:* Support production during First Of Type (FOT) assemblies* Prepare, update and compile the latest assembly/build documentation (General assembly, sub-system assembly, schematics and build notes) and prepare a document pack prior to the start of build.* Liaise with and inform the assembly/test leads on the upcoming modules (FOT and type approved)* Be responsible for ensuring the assembly/build documentation are kept up to date during (FOT) assembly.* Any changes to, or new additions, of procured parts are reflected in the BOM* Any design changes are identified and discussed with the design team and where required and agreed with the design lead, rectify themselves.* Liaise with the procurement team to ensure parts are in stock in time for assembly, including ordering necessary components.* Liaise and discuss any deviations, change requests, Technical Problem Reports with the design team, during assembly or testing.* Work with the compliance team assisting with supporting documentation for technical & product acceptance.* Request, organise, prioritise and work closely with the production manager to ensure the in-house fabricated components are ready for assembly prior to the assembly teams critical path. i.e. ready prior to assembly.* Support the compliance and assurance deliverablesKey attributes* Good work ethic* Rudimentary Solid works skills and capable of designing mechanical components, i.e. brackets, mountings, fixings.* Team player* Willingness to learn* Maintain Health and Safety standardsQualifications* Engineering degree minimum 2:1Based in Company Premises on the Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate, Blaenavon.Hours of Work* Monday - Thursday, 07:30 - 16:15 (1/2 Hr Lunch Unpaid)* Friday, 07:30 - 13:30 (No Lunch)SalaryThe position is monthly paid, with a salary of £25,000 per annum.
