We have just been rated as Outstanding in our recent CQC inspection.Our ambition is to inspire clients, their relatives and professionals alike by consistently attaining excellent outcomes, supporting people with compassion and kindness.We are currently looking for a Support Worker to join our team in Cwmbran and provide support and care to our client, a 22-year-old woman who has a physical and severe learning disability.The Benefits - Salary of £11.60 per hour on weekdays and £13.71 per hour at weekends- £0.40 per mileage when using your own car- Overtime opportunities- Work directly for the end service user and not an agency- Statutory benefits and holiday- Bonus schemeThe Role As a Support Worker, you will provide support and care for our client, a 22-year-old woman with a physical and severe learning disability, in her home in Cwmbran.You will support the client, who enjoys socialising and listening to music, with all areas of daily living, including self-care, household, vocational and leisure activities.Though she has a friendly and co-operative personality, she can become agitated on occasion and you will support her through this and provide emotional care.Developing an understanding of the clients facial expression and vocalisation communications, you will work closely with her mother to ensure her safety and physical wellbeing and facilitate her independence.Your role will involve:- Treating the client with respect and dignity at all times- Assisting the client to ensure an adequate level of hygiene is maintained- Being aware of the clients vulnerability and taking precautions to protect itAbout YouTo be considered as a Support Worker, you will need:- Experience of caring for people with learning, physical and communication difficulties- A good understanding of the personal and physical needs of a client with physical and cognitive difficulties- To be registered with OR be working towards registration with Social Care Wales- To hold a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 2 or above or a Diploma) OR have completed the All Wales Induction Framework, or be willing to complete this within 6 months of your start date if successful- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicleExperience of learning, cognitive or behavioural support would be beneficial to your application, as would competent IT skills. Experience of delivering feeds via a PEG tube would also be desirable.We are asking for female applicants only due to the occupational nature of the role.
