Job Description

Design & Development EngineerCwmbran22049/610£30,000 - £40,000 plus bonus, pension and more Benefits Package:

A world-renowned business who specialises in the supply of high-quality components into the automotive industry are currently looking to recruit a Design and Development Engineer. This business are developing evolutionary and revolutionary solutions to theindustry, launching more than 20 new products in the last couple of years. As a Design & Development Engineer, you will be responsible for design and/or development test work on current and future products.Role & Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring work is completed to meet agreed project schedules
  • Deliver cost effective solutions
  • Strong liaison with internal and external suppliers and customers
  • Work simultaneously across a variety of different projects & activities
  • Champion innovative and efficient methods of test and validation
  • Completion of design activities including CAD, FMEA, calculations & tolerance layouts
  • Participate in technical design reviews & support of IPR activities
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalence
  • Have a minimum of five years design, development and/or project engineering experience, preferably in an automotive environment
  • Have a working knowledge of CAD, preferably Pro-Engineer Creo 2
  • Have practical experience of test methodology and test procedures
  • Understand materials and stress/strain theory & FE Analysis
