Reporting to a Lead or Chief Engineer you are responsible for design and/or development test work on current and future brake products in accordance with specifications and timings agreed with the relevant Chief Engineer and Project Manager.Client DetailsA leading global supplier of drive train, mobility, braking, aftermarket and electric power train solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets. Made up of more than 8,600 diverse employees who apply their knowledge and skills in manufacturing facilities,engineering centres, joint ventures, distribution centres and global offices in 19 countries.Description* Ensuring work is completed to meet agreed project schedules* Deliver cost effective solutions* Strong liaison with internal and external suppliers and customers* Work simultaneously across a variety of different projects & activities* Champion innovative and efficient methods of test and validation* Completion of design activities including CAD, FMEA, calculations & tolerance layouts* Completion of development test activities including test specification & DVP&R* Provide technical support and guidance to other members of the team* Participate in technical design reviews & support of IPR activitiesProfile* Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalence* Have a minimum of five years design, development and/or project engineering experience, preferably in an automotive environment* Have a working knowledge of CAD, preferably Pro-Engineer Creo 2* Have practical experience of test methodology and test procedures* Understand manufacturing methods and processes* Understand complex mechanisms and structures* Understand materials and stress/strain theory & FE Analysis* Be familiar with latest engineering methods* Excellent communication, presentation & report writing skills* Be able to work effectively within a team environment* Ability to speak a foreign language would be an advantageJob OfferA competitive salary with a great benefit structureAn opportunity to work in a truly global organisation
