Mechanical Design EngineerDesign and Development EngineerSouth Wales£35-£40kIf you are a skilled mechanical engineer looking for your next move to an international automotive supplier, then this could be ideal for you.The company design and develop a range of hi-tech automotive products and due to ongoing expansion and success they are looking to recruit a mechanical design and development engineer.This role could suit someone with a few years post graduate experience who is looking to take the next step up. Ideally you will have a mechanical engineering degree with experience of using Creo and Windchill packages.This will give you the chance to work on some cutting edge technology and expand your automotive design and development skills.For full details please apply online and one of the team at Reed will be in touch.Job roleYou will be responsible for design and/or development test work on current and future products.Ensuring work is completed to meet agreed project schedules.Deliver cost effective solutions.Strong liaison with internal and external suppliers and customersWork simultaneously across a variety of different projects & activitiesChampion innovative and efficient methods of test and validationCompletion of design activities including CAD, FMEA, calculations & tolerance layoutsCompletion of development test activities including test specification & DVP&RProvide technical support and guidance to other members of the teamParticipate in technical design reviews & support of IPR activitiesSkills and Experience RequiredMechanical Engineering Degree or equivalenceHave a minimum of five years design, development and/or project engineering experience, preferably in an automotive environment.Have a working knowledge of CAD, preferably Pro-Engineer Creo 2Have practical experience of test methodology and test proceduresUnderstand manufacturing methods and processes.Understand complex mechanisms and structures.Understand materials and stress/strain theory & FE AnalysisBe familiar with latest engineering methods.Excellent communication, presentation & report writing skills.
