Our client are a housing association based in the Cwmbran area who are recruiting for an Arborist / Tree Surgeon on an initial 4-6 week contract.Job Purpose:- Direct delivery of routine and proactive tree management and maintenance to agreed service standards, with a focus on appearance of place, safety and community engagement.- Ensure the effective involvement and engagement of tenants, residents and other stakeholders in decisions about their needs and aspirations for the look and feel of the locality.- Ensure all relevant Health and Safety polices and procedures are followed without exception.Job Responsibilities:- Deliver an excellent arborist service which delivers routine and proactive tree management and maintenance in line with the clients Tree Management Policy and which meets the needs and demands of communities.- The role will involve the maintenance and management of trees across the Borough and will require the use of tools and climbing equipment that must be appropriately used.Person Specification:-An understanding of environmental issues within the built & natural environment and the impact that design and maintenance of external environment has on communities.- Knowledge of the relevant H&S and task specific legislation and codes of practice relating to arborist services.- Knowledge of the operation of climbing and cutting equipment.- Appropriate tree qualification.- Have successfully worked with members of the public- Experience of engaging and involving customers in designing solutions.- Experience and/or keen interest in the external environment.- Good communication skills with the ability to engage with and influence others.- Ability to build effective and positive relationships.- Ability to think laterally to solve problems.- Ability to negotiate and influence others in resolving day to day problems.The role is paying £10.75 p/h PAYE or £13.71 p/h umbrella and looking for someone to start ASAP.If suitable and interested, please click apply or send your up to date CV to
