Job Description

We are on a journey to make the world a beautiful and sustainable placeto live and have pledged to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050!This is a fantastic opportunity to join as a Timber Frame Estimator with Scotframe (Scotland hybrid role) to provide accurate detailed quotations for the supply of timber frame kits and associated joinery materials in line with clients drawings & specifications. As aTimber Frame Estimator with Scotframe you will be involved in the following:

  • Produce competitive quotations at given margins to sustain & grow the business.
  • Work efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage pipeline and approach to each project in agreement with the sales team to ensure that opportunities are prioritized, workload is managed and response timescales are achieved.
  • Liaise with technical and production departments to ensure projects progress through the system from order to delivery.
  • Attend pre and post contract meetings as required.
  • Attend self-build and trade shows to represent the company.
  • Provide cover for customer sales enquiries when sales team are not available.
  • Maintain weekly record of workload and achievements.

  • Experience of a fast moving estimating department and the understanding of the principles of timber frame construction and building industry requirements.
  • Ability to identify and implement performance goals, priorities, recommend measures.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate initiative to spot and highlight areas/matters of concern to Line Manager.
  • Able to manage workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work on own or as part of a team.
  • IT literate in systems relevant to role i.e. Microsoft Excel & Word or estimating take off software.
  • Good business and commercial awareness - preferably gained from similar industry.
  • Able to translate technical language into simple terms.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Desirable
  • Experience of CAD based drawing packages.
  • Knowledge of current Building Regulations.
  • Knowledge of thermal design requirements.
  • Good problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to influence and lead change within the team.
