Job Description

Job Title: Production Planner (MRP)Sector: Aerospace & ManufacturingSalary: Circa £34,000 p.a (DOE)Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UKContract: Full-time, Permanent.Are you an experienced MRP Production Planner, who is open to a new opportunity within the aerospace sector Have you been responsible for converting customer requirements into a manufacturing and delivery plan Are you looking to work for a fast-paced andforward-thinking companyVerus Recruitment Partners are pleased to be supporting our client, a South Yorkshire based leading international aerospace manufacturer in the recruitment of an MRP Planner on a full-time, permanent basis due to their continued growth and major projects. As the new MRP Production Planner, you report directly to the Head of Planning and Logistics and liaise directly with the internal operations team and external customers. You will be tasked with providing best practices in generating the production plan, whichin turn will provide the most efficient manufacturing performance possible whilst achieving OTIF for the customers requirements.Duties and Responsibilities* Scheduling and Demand: Receive and analyse Customer schedules or Forecasts and generate the development production plan. Communicate the master production schedule (MPS) plan to the relevant teams and report on adherence to the plan, including the impacton the customer.* Capacity Planning: Working closely with your team and the operations team to understand existing hours plan, load and capacity on key pieces of equipment and the people requirements when composing the Production Plan. Contribute clear updates of demand requirementsas part of the Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process.* Customer Liaison: Position yourself as an integral part of the cross-functional internal team, understand the level of communications required and engage in customer conference calls, rate assessments and other development liaison activities. Respond to customerrequirements within any specified deadlines. Organise regular face-to-face meetings with customers to ensure a strong relationship is maintained.* Inventory Management: Be responsible for employing optimal inventory practices. Generate WIP levels to satisfy the development programme and Customer buffer expectations, whilst also managing obsolete, scrap, non-conforming and aged/dwelling Work In Progress.Liaison with the purchasing department to confirm that correct raw materials are sourced on time.* Delivery: Organise a shipping manifest to ensure delivery of goods are on time and to the correct location. Communicate the despatch requirements clearly to the relevant members of the Operations Team and Stores.* Sales: Generate accurate sales forecasts by part number and by week. Maintain accurate visibility of order book on the ERP system, EFACS (Training will be provided) and provide sales forecast budget information on programmes.
