Job Description

SHIFT TEAM MANAGER£50,000 per annumWork on Panama Shift PatternTechniche are supporting a worlds largest polymer foams manufacturer with appointing a new Production Manager. The company specialise in production of polymer foam products, to any type of industry including construction, packing, mattresses, sport shoesetc.As a Shift Team Manager you will manage, support, and develop high-performing teams, whilst embedding a culture of delivery and continuous improvement through effective management. You will ensure the main drivers and KPIs are achieved, on a shift by shiftbasis, whilst maintaining good housekeeping and a safe working environment. You will be responsible for ensuring resources are effectively organised to meet shift production targets.Responsibilities:

  • Effective management of performance, conduct, absence, engagement and training and development of team members, holding people accountable to agreed departmental and company standards.
  • To effectively share Site Lead responsibility, with other Shift Team Managers, during 24/7 operations outside office hours, providing guidance and leadership to all site functions to achieve optimum outputs.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and activities. Identify, communicate and manage areas for improvement.
  • Update KPIs, identify and communicate associated actions and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Assist production management to improve all levels of performance in respect to people and processes.
  • Communicate effectively across the shifts to maximise performance.
  • Contribute proactively to all OHSE activities, maintaining good housekeeping and a safe working environment at all times.
  • Provide a shift summary and handover record with any exceptions detailed and actioned.
  • Assist with the introduction of; new products, equipment, procedures and processes.
  • Ensure regular inspections and audits are carried out in line with departmental requirement.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar position
  • Experience of managing or supervising teams
  • Good knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
  • Good working knowledge and competency of Microsoft packages and databases
  • Excellent communication, influencing and people skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Ability to maintain KPIs and report accordingly
  • Competent in monitoring and control of resources to achieve daily schedules
