Job Description

Psychology Graduate - Teaching AssistantCroydonASAP StartTime Plan Education are pleased to be working with a special needs school in Croydon. They are recruiting several graduate teaching assistants to start ASAP. These are full-time positions for the remainder of the academic year, via the agency.The school caters for 220 pupils aged 2-19 years old, with EHCPs for SEMH, ASD and social and communication difficulties. As well as a varied curriculum, they also offer a range of therapies and extra-curricular activities.The selected applicants will ideally have some SEN experience, especially with SEMH and ASD. As well as supporting students on a 1:1 basis, you will also be required to support whole classes when needed. You will have a caring, calm personality with a keeninterest to progress in the field of SEN.This position will give anyone considering a future in teaching valuable classroom-based experience supporting children on a one-on-one and group basis.We are looking for individuals that are dedicated to supporting children of different age groups and can adapt. If you are a Psychology Graduate with an interest and desire to learn more about supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilitiesthis is the role for you.Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements
  • Experience of supporting children or young adults with learning difficulties or disabilities desirable.
  • Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour.
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 3-6 months
