The Pensions Technical Specialist role forms part of the Propositions team reporting to the Senior Product and Technical Manager.You will be responsible to provide technical support and guidance, as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), as wellas supplying support of analysis and interpretation of tax and pension legislation to all departments as part of the Vitality Invest offering.You will also help ensure that the pensions operational framework is compliant with the relevant requirements and that it delivers excellent customer outcomes.Responsibilities of our ideal Pensions Technical Specialist will include:
  • Maintaining a high level of technical/legal knowledge to support the Vitality Invest proposition and operational processes
  • Responding to queries from both internal/external stakeholders relating to product, regulatory and technical aspects of the Vitality Invest proposition
  • Providing technical support and day-to-day practical input to operational requirements in managing pensions, ISAs, and other investment products, and will include items such as death benefit payments, transfers, and Lifetime Allowance calculations
  • Supporting the operations team in producing/reviewing standard operating procedures and processes; identifying gaps, risks and/or issues
  • Providing technical training to internal staff, communicating complex technical concepts in an easy-to-understand way
  • Assisting in the delivery of new proposition or operational initiatives, including producing documentation relating to product governance
  • Supporting the Finance team with reports and calculations
What we are looking for in our ideal Pensions Technical Specialist:
  • A high level of regulatory knowledge
  • A high level of pension product knowledge
  • Experience in similar pensions related role
  • Relevant Financial Services qualifications (for example Certificate/Diploma level qualifications through Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or Pensions Management Institute (PMI)
