Job Description

Financial Controller who enjoys a busy, fast paced role for a great opportunity at a large firm based in the Croydon area. As well as implementing strategy within the business, you will be doing a very hands-on role managing a team and financial processes across several offices - so there is some travel. This is a role that needs someone with a dynamic approach to their work, who can manage a varied and changing workload and really loves the day to day accounting procedures and processes.Mainly focussed around managing the accountancy teams, plus integration and harmonisation of financial systems and controls within the business to bring consistency of reporting to the firm. The Financial Controller will report to the Group Finance Director and will be involved in presenting financial results to the board and developing financial plans for the business.Financial Controller:

  • Reviewing and modernising financial systems and controls with a key focus on increasing the efficiency of the financial processes
  • Improving financial reporting and analysis
  • Presenting financial results and KPIs to the board at weekly board meetings
  • Redesigning and implementing an annual budgeting process
  • Implementing a system of credit control management to support credit insurance requirements
  • Preparing monthly management and statutory financial results
  • Managing month end close processes including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Taking ownership of the general ledger
  • Managing the year end audit
  • Providing leadership and guidance to junior staff members
  • Integrating currently separate finance teams and systems
  • Sage 200 and Sage 50 would be an advantage
