Job Description

Design Engineer: join a Client who design and produce bespoke door furniture, ironmongery and electrical products. You will have a strong foundation in designing for manufacturing focusing on intricate detail, have a solid working knowledge of CNC machining and be proficient in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.Working closely with a Technical Director you will:

  • Maintain the product and component drawing database using file-management software
  • Maintain the bills of materials for the product range on the ERP system
  • Help to plan and prioritize which new products and product ranges to develop
  • Design and engineer bespoke products for prestigious architect / interior design customers at a rate of around 10 per week (often working from basic sketches)
  • Provide Sales costing / estimates for manufacture for bespoke design products
  • Create clear product and part drawings for customers, manufacturers, and colleagues
    • Package:· Basic salary to 35k per annum doe· Onsite parking (based in the Purley area, just outside of Croydon)· Free Lunch· 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, plus Christmas shut down (typically 2- 3 days)Hours: Monday to Friday: 7.30am-16.30 or 8:00am-17:00Essential Experience:
  • Be experienced in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience designing parts for CNC machining
  • World-class attention to detail, in both design and data entry
  • Experience managing a high volume of CAD files using file-management software
  • Experience designing metal parts for other manufacturing methods – e.g. sheet metal, casting, forging.
  • Experience creating high-quality designs and drawings from low-quality sketches
  • Be a real team player, this role collaborates closely with Sales and Purchasing
  • A passion for making things – flair for design and engineering
  • Ideas driven and naturally use own initiative
