Key functions of the post holder are:* To deliver a customer-oriented programme of general building improvements, major repairs and planned maintenance to Council tenants, leaseholders and schools in the Borough, ensuring value for money and performance against targets.* To ensure the execution of the works complies with statutory and building regulations, Health and Safety requirements, and pursues the Councils policies for community cohesion and energy efficiency.* To develop and maintain good working relationships and provide effective stakeholder management and communication* To provide professional technical advice in the construction discipline for the Service.* Ensure programmed works and projects are appropriately designed and specified through survey and site assessment, planning and technical research as necessary, preparation of drawings and sketches, making calculations, and preparing the specification documentsfor tender.* Lead on contract/financial management and participate in re-procurement and selection of new contracts.* Manage the GBW contract management team, following good practice and Council policies and procedures in order to deliver the works programme effectively.If you are interested in this role please send your updated CV in the first instance.
