Job Description

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is currently undertaking a once in a career transformation of how healthcare will be delivered in South East Wales and we are looking for exceptional and highly motivated Transfusion Practitioner to join a team providing high quality Blood Transfusion services as part of Blood Sciences.If your values align with our Pathology vision below then this is an exciting role for youDelivering a leading, people centred service which is innovative, dynamic and continually improving.The post will be based at The Grange University Hospital, which is a brand new critical care centre that has been built to ensure we can continue to attract and retain the best staff to work in our services, in order to maintain the highest standards of care for the people of Gwent and South Powys. The successful candidate will be required to rotate to the other sites to carry out their role.We are looking for a registered Nurse/Midwife /ODP or other allied healthcare professional to join our small motivated and enthusiastic transfusion practitioner team. You should have clinical experience of the Blood Transfusion process and should hold a post graduate qualification, i.e. MSc, or be working towards.You will be responsible for promoting safe Blood Transfusion across the Health Board through education and policy development. There will be extensive liaison with the Welsh Blood Service supporting the Blood Health plan in conjunction with other Transfusion Practitioners across Wales.This senior position requires a flexible, confident individual who can demonstrate excellent communication & interpersonal skills. You will be expected to liaise with all levels of staff involved in the transfusion process.
