Job Description

We are excited to share a permanent job opening for CNC Setter at a well known manufacturing company in Cwmbran.We are looking for a CNC Setter with extensive experience within the automotive/manufacturing sectors. This is a permanent role, with career progression within the company for the right candidate.Contract:PermanentSalary:£32,000-£35,000Produce machined parts by setting and operating CNC lathes, Vertical and Horizontal milling/routing machines whilst maintaining quality and safety standards.The duties and responsibilities highlighted in this job description are indicative and may vary over time. Jobholders are expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities relevant to the nature, level and scope of the role.Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Download programs from the file server
  • Setup and run CNC machining centres
  • Prove out new NPI programs
  • Use Verniers and other inspection equipment to meet tolerance requirements stipulated in engineering drawings
  • Perform daily / weekly maintenance tasks in accordance with Machine Centre maintenance plan
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Complete all necessary paperwork as required
  • Work with Line Leader & programming team seeking opportunities to improve processes and reduce cycle times
  • Support team colleagues
  • Maintain good housekeeping in accordance with 5S processes and practices
  • Take responsibility for own quality of output
  • Perform other tasks as reasonably requested by Production Manager
Essential Criteria
  • Time served apprentice or equivalent modern apprenticeship experienced in running and setting of CNC vertical, horizontal mills, CNC lathes and multi axis routing machines
  • NVQ Level 2+3 mechanical engineering
  • Ability to use a wide range of IMTE to facilitate inspection of completed components.
