Job Description

Job Purpose:To control the Warehouse Supervisors, Team Leaders and Operatives on shift to ensure efficient operational running of all outbound and inbound functions within the warehouseSpecific Responsibilities and Objectives: To champion a Food Safety Culture and bring to the attention of Management and staff bad practices which fall short of the required standard. Ensure all goods received are receipted in and checked in accordance with HACCP/Quality requirements (Temperature, Quality checks) and Critical Control Points (CCPs) are recorded on all Intake Sheets. Ensure all goods stored and despatched are checked in accordance with HACCP/Quality requirements (Temperature, Quality checks) and Critical Control Points (CCPs) are recorded on all Load Plans. Ensure all loads sent are correctly labelled, safely stacked,wrapped and secured. To ensure all CCP failures or GMP procedures non-conformance are recorded, investigated and rectified. Complete all relevant paperwork to comply with health and safety and food safety standards and HACCP requirements and track the service provided. This includes the completion of Glass Audits, Temperature Monitoring & Hygiene Records. Ensure Non-Conformance Reports are completed for all pallet/product/trailer issues and given to Site Management and ensure photographs are taken of all non-conforming pallets and labels and passed to Customer Services. To carry out and/or assist in the Root Cause Analysis of all quality related non conformances to stop and/or minimise reoccurrence. To monitor and control the Returns/Quarantine Area and ensure they are returned to the Supplier upon request and suitably labelled and wrapped whilst in store and on despatch. Operate relevant MHE and ensure all persons operating equipment are permitted & authorised and that they are operated in a safe manner at all times. Ensure all MHE users complete a Pre-Check sheet at the start and end of their shift and that any defects recorded are dealt within a professional manner. Report any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with Buffaload Logistics accident reporting procedure, ensuring statements, photographs, etc., are taken and any MHE involved are placed as VOR until inspected by a competent person Ensure that the warehouse is left in a tidy and hygienic condition at the end of the shift and Hygiene Records are completed. To ensure temperature probes are calibrated weekly and the records are completed. To ensure air temperatures are taken and recorded as per procedure and non-conformance is investigated and rectified in a timely manner. To ensure all staff adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Uniform Guidelines, Health and Safety Policy; Quality Policy & Hygiene Policy Carry out other relevant reasonable management requests as required by your Line Manager and Members of Management. The management and control of warehouse and product security. To manage staff holidays, sickness and Returns to Work for all staff under your leadership. To ensure all staff appraisals are completed in a timely manner and staff training and development needs are addressed. To carry out staff inductions and probationary reviews meetings ensuring all paperwork is completed in a timely manner and sent to Human Resources To support HACCP Team members in carrying out their duties.Qualifications:Core HACCP Awareness Desirable HACCP Level 3 Other relevant industry qualificationsExperience:Core Leadership experience Desirable Previous experience working within a similar role, business and / or industryOther Criteria: Core Excellent communication and customer service skills; towards colleagues and customers Must be physically active due to the nature of the role; dealing with heavy goods Must be fluent in English due to the nature of the role; being in constant communication with Operational teams, and warehouse operativesHours7pm - 7am, 4 on 4 off
