Job Description

Head of Transport - 3rd Party Logistics - Crewe - Up to £75,000.About the CompanyOur client, a leading distribution company are looking for an experienced Head of Transport to join their team. You will take ownership of key projects within the business and drive sustainable improvements into the operation. It will be your responsibility to drive the business to maximise the performance of the Distribution division.Head of Transport - The Rewards

  • Manage Distribution operation via Transport team
  • Execute and deliver strategic cost-saving initiatives as outlined and agreed
  • To monitor all relevant KPIs and ensure they are adhered to across the team

  • Manage and successfully deliver key strategic projects within division to improve financial and service performance
  • Identify and deliver operational improvements which ensure excellence within the operation
  • Budgetary responsibility
  • Take the lead in managing driver behaviours to ensure efficient driving standards are maintained
  • Lead, as an agent of change’ for the Transport and Planning team through business improvement and cultural change.
  • Develop, implement and uphold SOPs for operation building robust systems and process
  • Ensure that the operation is planned & controlled in a pro-active, constructive and progressive manner
  • Take the lead in on boarding new clients, ensuring integration into the transport operation
  • Ensure legal compliance across the transport operation.
