Job Description

An opportunity for a Head of Sales to join an established foodservice wholesaler who specialise in great quality, locally sourced fresh meats, seafood, vegetables, fruit and other essentials for professional chefs and quality kitchens. In this fast pacedenvironment you will implement the agreed sales strategy for the business with responsibility for an internal sales team and field based sales team. Leading from the front you will create and exploit all opportunities to satisfy customer demands and deliverthe required revenue and profit for the company.Key responsibilities for the Head of Sales

  • Responsible for defining the overall sales strategy for the business.
  • Lead and develop the team to identify every sales and profit growth opportunity in their sector in order to maximise all possible lines and achieving or exceeding sales budgets. This includes understanding all the commercial aspects of an account and achievingthe profit margins through formulating budgets, analysing key data and making projections for each quarter.
  • Manage and lead the development of the team effectively; performing day-to-day management and guidance, one to ones and appraisals etc.
Essential requirements for the successful Head of Sales:
  • Ability and experience of leading and developing teams to gain customer loyalty and profit results
  • Knowledge of sales principles and techniques which are used to negotiate the best deals
  • Applied knowledge of the foodservice industry
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Evidence of analytical skills used understand customer business and how to improve profit and maximise sales
On offer is £60 - £70,000 basic salary, 20 - 40% Bonus, and £6,500 car allowance, pension, healthcare plus further benefits.
