Job Description The successful candidate will be available to start in the next few weeks. Extensive group reporting and consolidation, Tax and Management Accounting experience. About Our ClientMorgan McKinley has the pleasure of partnering with an exciting client based in Crawley, to look for an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team for a period of 12 months. Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities for this role include monitoring and management of Group overheads; balance sheet review and reconciliation, the preparation of the Group consolidation, management accounts and commentary; preparation of IFRS and FRS101 compliant statutoryaccounts; amongst a range of other ad hoc tasks to support the needs of a rapidly growing Group. The role would suit a technically minded individually that is keen to learn and improve on technical accounting knowledge as well as lead and develop reporting consistency, automation and improvements. This role will also include senior stakeholder interaction. Key Responsibilities
  • Review and forecast overheads across group to ensure they are in line with the budget
  • Provide proactive overhead management and monitoring, using analysis of available data, and provide challenge to budget holders
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Post prepayment, accrual and payroll journals in preparation for month end accounts
  • Manage accounting for stock holding, including monthly stock count and system adjustments for used stock.
  • Prepare trading sheets for commercial reviews
  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Be the first point of contact for indirect tax queries, both UK and overseas
  • Preparation of individual company and group corporation tax calculations for review
  • Preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and FRS 101
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly consolidations and consolidated management accounts
The Successful Applicant
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc) or QBE with significant experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and FRS101
  • Interest and understanding of how financial systems interact with each other
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office suite, in particular Excel modelling
  • Business process improvement mindset - to drive improvements in processes
  • Tax accounting
