The furniture being build is bespoke and the majority it made to measure for celebrities and titan businesses across the globe.The quality of the furniture must be pristine and to an exceptional standard.The business is a high performing business with excellent customer reviews for the quality of work and overall service. You will be working within a medium sized team, most of the time independently however there may be occasions where you are required towork as a team on a specific job and communicate effectively across departments to complete your work.The role is a permanent position where Upholstery experience is absolutely essential.THE ROLEThe role itself is to work as an Upholsterer which will use a range of techniques to produce a variety of high-quality pieces of standard and bespoke furniture.You will work Monday to Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm as part of a medium sized team to build bespoke furniture from frame to end result.As part of the role you will be required to be competent in the following:Use a range of traditional upholstery skills to produce pieces of furniture, both standard and bespoke, to the job order specificationsUnderstanding classic, modern and traditional furniture and applying suitable techniquesKnowledge of deep buttoning, webbing and springing up and other traditional techniques is a mustFollow specifications, drawings and measurementsMeasuring, cutting and sewing all types of fabric and leatherUsing a variety of hand tools as part of working methodsUnderstanding and carrying out instructions from the supervisorEnsuring the highest quality standards are achievedEnsure the work area is kept clean and tidyFollow health and safety instructions provided and safeguard your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.THE PERSONWork experience in bespoke UpholsteringIdeally experienced in traditional upholstery methodsClose attention to detailAbility to work to tight deadlinesAbility to problem solve as requiredAble to work as part of a teamPositive, can-do attitudeResponsible and reliable in natureWorking independently alone using own initiativeStrong communication skillsINTERESTEDPlease call Emily Rushworth at Westray Recruitment Group.
