SAP SD/WM Functional Consultant

The CompanyWe are delighted to be supporting a organisation which is over 100 years old and manages a range of market leading products used worldwide. With a SAP based core business system they have a team of functional consultants who develop and support users in alldepartments. Recent acquisitions have seen an increase in requirements for system development and they are looking to recruit a candidate with WM and SD skills to help with the efficiency of the warehousing and distribution centres across Europe.The RoleReporting to the Senior Director of IT, you will be responsible for coordinating and serving as advanced functional authority for complex business solutions and SAP enhancement projects, specifically focused on functionality within WM and SD. Utilizing skillsthat require an understanding of business processes, business and technical impacts, and software development lifecycle (SDLC), you will be responsible for designing effective business-oriented SD & WM SAP solutions, executing functional changes, and guidingcross-functional project teams.

• Providing SAP functional guidance to professional and technical staff, specifically around WM and SD modules.
• Analysing and evaluating business requirements around Sales & Distribution and Warehouse Management, consulting with warehousing and distribution centres to identifying areas for the development of technical solutions to automate and/or improve businessprocesses.
• Providing recommendations on new or enhanced systems, software, upgrades, and modifications.
• Evaluating and balancing the needs of multiple non-technical departments to execute the most effective outcomes.
• Guiding strategic plans for systems/applications development.
• Acting as technical lead over business improvement projects.
• Designing and directing cross-functional project testing and quality assurance processes.
• Designing and directing user training sessions, developing, and updating user documentation and materials for users and applications support staff.
• Providing or coordinating functional and business adjacent subject matter expert staff training.
• Developing functional specifications to guide application development staff ahead of complex system enhancements.
• Determining cost benefit for enhancement projects.

The Person

• Candidates will need extensive experience working with SAP ECC 6 and SAP S/4HANA; specifically, SD (sales and distribution) expertise with supporting knowledge in WM (SAP warehouse management).
• Broad knowledge of operations, services, concepts, terms, and activities common to SAP systems, customer service, sales, and distribution.
• Developing and presenting technical documentation and training materials.
• Experience with troubleshooting and remedying complex production issues with SAP SD and WM, adhering to internal SLA guidelines for response and remediation.
• Effectively lead cross-functional, multi-national teams through complex information technology projects involving multiple disciplines to achieve departmental goals.
• Applying critical thinking skills to reach sound, logical conclusions regarding uniform business needs and requirements with a broad scope.

The role will be based out of their offices just north of Newcastle upon Tyne and candidates will need to be onsite for 2 days per week and also prepared to travel, infrequently but when required, to distribution sites across Europe.
