Main purpose of job: To assist Operations manager, Project Coordinator & Production Supervisor in managing multiple Projects and be responsible for the effective implementation of the Quality management system.Position is responsible for: Multiple Projects & Pipeline Innovations Quality Management Systems.Job descriptionThis role is an opportunity to be part of our growing company within the oil and gas industry. Your role as Project and Quality Engineer will be of paramount importance within the company.BackgroundPipeline Innovations build and operate caliper tools, we then produce reports from geometry surveys conducted. These surveys are run worldwide within the oil and gas industry. We have many high-profile clients and a proven track record running caliper tools.Our standards need to be of the highest level to ensure our continued success and growth as a small company.Our two products are the mechanical caliper tool and the foam Pathfinder caliper.Main dutiesTo be responsible for and assist in coordinating, organising, supervising, and improving the following:Project Engineer duties:
  • Prepare, schedule and coordinate technical and engineering projects as required to ensure that the project is delivered in accordance with the client specification, and within the agreed time frame.
  • Coordinate with Ops manager to ensure that projects are managed and delivered in accordance with the client specification, within budget and within the agreed time frame.
  • Coordinate with department managers to ensure that Pathfinder and caliper projects are successful in field.
  • Coordinate with department managers to ensure that products are produced to the required specification and are available to meet the client’s schedule.
  • Coordinate with data analysts to ensure that reports are correct and of the required standard.
  • Coordinate with data analysts to ensure that reports are completed and issued as per client’s schedule.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure that Project deliverables are defined and then met as closely as possible through the Project lifecycle.
  • Attend and if necessary, lead Project meetings both in house and with external clients.
QMS duties:
  • Maintaining Pipeline Innovations Quality management systems to ISO 9001 and Atex associated standards to Pipeline Innovations equipment.
  • Review and manage quality systems, processes, and procedures to meet requirements of clients and comply with ISO 9001.
  • Investigate potential improvements to the current quality and production systems and help to implement proposed solutions.
  • Inspection, quality assurance and or functional testing of component parts, materials, assemblies, completed tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate with external QA Auditors to ensure compliance and perform internal audits and random quality checks in house.
  • Ensure quality checks and procedures are followed through all stages of production and are recorded as required.
  • Hold in house meetings required to maintain an effective quality management system, such as NCR / design review meetings.
Essential attributes
  • Experience in managing multiple Projects to tight timescales.
  • Experience in managing multiple Projects under pressure to perform.
  • Experience in preparation of reports.
Preferred attributes
  • Experience of pigging equipment in the offshore industry.
  • Have knowledge and experience of Quality Management System, Inspection, quality assurance and or functional testing of component parts, materials and assemblies.
  • Have experience or knowledge of monitoring production / inventory processes and procedures.
  • Experience conducting calibrations and producing reports.
  • High level of competence in IT skills.
  • Experience producing and issuing Order acknowledgement forms, works orders etc.
  • Qualification in an Engineering / science-based field to degree level.
