MTrec’s New Opportunity;MTrec Technical are proudly representing our precision engineering client, based in Cramlington/Northumberland, by recruiting a permanent Process Engineer to join their growing team. A successful candidate will be responsible for providing frontline supportin the production areas to maximise the operational efficiency of equipment and processes. You will be responsible for sustaining a wide range of processes as well as being accountable for developing and implementing new processes, process improvements andcost/scrap reduction to support the business projects, strategic plans and growth initiatives.If you are an experienced Process Engineer, with a background in Electronics or Packaging, apply now for an immediate response!The Job You’ll Do;
  • Day to day line support.
  • Control of the introduction of new material processes and equipment to include, Process development, Establishing process and equipment capabilities Specifying equipment and commissioning, Designing or sub-contracting the design of jigs and fixtures, Thegeneration of process & manufacturing related documentation & PFMEA, Participation in the design review / NPI processes and gates, Supplier / Customer liaison, Operator training and Participate in the planning and layout of manufacturing cells
  • Implement process improvements and cost reductions. Raising appropriate CEA’s to both maintain and improve business performance.
  • Ensure manufacturing documents are generated and are maintained in line with the manufacturing processes
  • Participate and lead Failure analysis (8D) and yield improvement activities
  • Liaison with other departments (Quality/Test/Design) in analysing customer returns and implementing corrective actions
  • Liaison with other departments (Quality/Procurement) and suppliers when problems occur with non-conforming materials
  • Assist in internal and external audits and decision making on change notes and concessions.
  • Support of operational requirements when required with on call or shift working patterns.
  • Off-site visits. On occasion visits to customers, suppliers or training venues may be necessary and may involve foreign travel.
  • To participate in the introduction of new manufacturing techniques and working practices. To control changes to processes in accordance with NPI and Quality systems. Maintain detailed working knowledge of best practice in own areas of expertise.
  • Drive forward the implementation of yield improvement projects within a lean six sigma framework.
  • Actively seek to acquire knowledge of new processes or equipment to be used in NPI and/or CI
About You;
  • Experience of Semiconductor packaging materials, manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma continuous improvement techniques
  • Knowledge or experience working with common semiconductor packaging materials and assembly processes or methods
  • Experience in Design of Experiments, 8D and data analysis
  • Process development and documentation
  • Task planning/management
  • Knowledge of standards for qualification of Semiconductor devices
  • Good interpersonal skills, a team player and able to communicate (both written and verbally) and influence across all levels of the business
  • Progress reporting required to support performance KPI’s and project needs
