Job Description

Our client, a leading organisation in the engineering industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician to join their dynamic team. If you are passionate about preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and ensuringsafe and efficient operations, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!Salary: £38K - £40KShifts: Days and Nights (37.5 hours per week) Responsibilities:

  • Perform complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) of equipment, tools, and facilities, focusing on breakdown prevention through the continuous development of PPM procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of breakdowns and implement effective reoccurrence prevention plans using tools such as major breakdown reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments, suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers as required.
  • Install or modify equipment as needed, ensuring adherence to industry standards and specifications.
  • Operate access platforms, including scissor lifts and cherry pickers, following safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) through adherence to good working practises, housekeeping, and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Promote and enforce a safe working environment, leading by example and driving positive behaviour according to our clients health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Perform any other responsibilities that may reasonably be expected.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in carrying out planned preventive maintenance and implementing maintenance procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and implementation of reoccurrence prevention plans.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to install or modify equipment accurately.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with various departments, suppliers, contractors, and manufacturers.
  • Experience operating access platforms, such as scissor lifts and cherry pickers, is a plus.
  • Solid understanding and commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and practises.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a positive and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
