Job Description

Adecco are currently assisting our esteemed, ever-growing client based in Northumberland. We are assisting them in their search for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team, working in a state of the art manufacturing facility. Salary: £38,493 Annually Shifts: Days and Nights (3 Shift Pattern)What youll be doing:

  • Complete planned preventive maintenance of equipment, tools and facilities, with an emphasis on breakdown prevention through the continual development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) procedures
  • Install and/or modify equipment
  • Complete a root cause analysis of breakdowns and implementation of effective reoccurrence prevention plans using tools such as major breakdown reports
  • Work with other departments, suppliers, contractors and manufacturers as required
  • Operate access platforms including scissor lifts and cherry pickers
  • Demonstrate a positive approach to HS&E through good working practices, housekeeping and correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work in a safe manner; driving positive behaviour and leading by example with regard to the companys health, safety and environmental policies
  • Carryout any other responsibilities not listed above as may reasonably be expected
Who we are looking for:
  • BTEC in mechanical engineering and a NVQ Level 3 in mechanical maintenance or equivalent qualifications.
  • You must have experience of working within a high volume-manufacturing environment and have a mechanical background.
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings is essential and having knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues, have excellent communication skills, be organised and self-motivated with a hands on approach. You will also have strong team working skills.
