Job Description

The CompanyOur client is a specialist manufacturing company. Growth is the reason they are looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.The Role

  • Process improvements using data analysis.
  • New Product/model Introduction from trials to full production, including checking and approving new drawings.
  • Manage any new tooling requirements from NPI process.
  • Generate and maintain PFMEA / Method Sheets / etc.
  • Quality Improvements using 8D problem solving methodologies.
  • Capacity planning.
  • Redesign of shop floor layouts and workstation layouts.
  • Process improvements and lean manufacturing reviews.
  • Lead cycle time reduction.
  • Organise trials for new model, liaising with Production / Design / Quality teams to fix any issues found during trials.
  • Liaise with contractors for new machinery installs.
  • Technical specifications and leading the installation of new capital equipment.
  • Support with installation and buy-off of new equipment.
  • Investigating and understanding new technologies with a view to introducing new manufacturing methods.
The Person
  • You will ideally be degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline, although demonstrable experience will be considered.
  • Manufacturing Process experience gained within welding/machining/paint/assembly/etc.
  • Experience of process improvement, NPI - New Product Introduction, creating technical specifications.
  • Previous experience of working as a Welding Engineer within a manufacturing engineering environment would be desirable.
  • Practical welding experience would be desirable.
  • Online and offline robotic welding programming experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence.
  • Able to prioritise effectively.
