Job Description

Our client, a renowned engineering company, is currently seeking a Maintenance Lead to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient repairs. You will also play a crucial role in developing other members of the maintenance team, offering technical supportand guidance.Salary: £44K (3 Shift Pattern)Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain equipment, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum and repairs are closed out in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and mentor, providing technical support and guidance to enhance the skill set of the team.
  • Standardise and develop planned maintenance procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into major breakdowns to identify their root causes and subsequently develop prevention plans to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Ensure an efficient maintenance response to minimise operational downtime by effectively utilising labour resources.
  • Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to order necessary parts or seek technical advice.
  • Maintain and correctly store all relevant documentation.
  • Act as a deputy for the senior maintenance engineer/maintenance manager when required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in maintenance roles, preferably within engineering.
  • Proven ability to repair and maintain equipment, with a strong focus on minimising downtime and achieving effective repairs.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills to develop and guide a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of breakdowns and develop prevention plans.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, and other team members.
  • Proficient in documenting and maintaining records accurately.
  • Ability to deputise for senior maintenance engineer/maintenance manager as and when required.
