Job Description

Adecco Northumberland are delighted to assist our client with their search for a Maintenance Engineer, with a Mechanical bias.Weve worked with the client for over ten years, and have witness year on year growth. The business is in 24/7 manufacture, so the site is busy and although you will be part of PPM schedules, the will be a blend of preventative and reactive maintenance. Salary: £32,000 per yearDuties IncludeMaintaining equipment to optimum standards to minimise downtime and maximise equipment efficiency through reactive and proactive approaches, prioritising workloads effectively:

  • Maintenance Skill, machine installation and layouts.
  • Ensure that planned preventative maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules and industry best practices
  • Good Level of understand towards preventative maintenance (TPM) systems and installing systems into business structures.
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM)
  • Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required
  • carry out reactive repairs.
  • Stripping and rebuilding machinery
  • Fault finding
  • Design of simple machinery, eg: deburr, robot grippers and pick place
  • Repairing machinery and presses
  • Control of contractors
  • Day shift role but flexibility of working shift pattern to cover if required. (Hols/Sickness)
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Mechanical based apprenticeship with City & Guilds or equivalent qualification
  • Experience working with both PLC and Fanuc control systems would be desirable
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic
  • Knowledge of SAP (desirable)
This role is Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week on a three-shift rotation:
  • Mon-Thurs 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, or 11pm-7am
  • Friday: 7am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-6pm, or 6pm-11:30pm
  • Overtime via weekend working may be required to fit the needs and demands of the business.
