Job Description

The CompanyOur client is a leading Northumberland based manufacturer. Due to sustained growth, they are now recruiting for an Inventory Controller.The Role

  • The Inventory Controller will be responsible for scheduling and planning materials for specific production cells in line with MRP system requirements.
  • Coordinating and executing scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using advanced planning system.
  • Identifying and reacting to material plans that do not meet Production requirements.
  • Monitoring and managing any returnable parts/products from production.
  • Ensuring stock accuracy. Conducting regular cycle counts, sharing, communicating and reporting on variances to the Materials Manager.
  • Interacting with the production control department to understand demand and forecast.
  • Using and maintaining MRP data as the primary planning system tool.
  • Providing input in developing departmental strategies for inventory on existing items.
  • Creating statistical reports on inventory accuracy.
  • Sharing data with relevant departments.
  • Interacting with other departments as and when required.
  • Working closely with production to ensure there are no areas of concern, including monitoring their stock holding.
  • Executing with excellence in the area of stock and demand replenishment, providing feedback to the supply chain on risks regarding replenishment levels and demand.
  • Participating in twice yearly stock takes, most likely to be held on a weekend.
The Person
  • Previous experience in a planning / logistics role.
  • Experience of using a computerised inventory control system.
  • Extensive experience in barcode stock management.
  • Competent IT Skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work using on own initiative.
  • Well organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.
  • An understanding of health and safety requirements in a working environment
  • MRP experience would be an advantage
  • Experience of statistical reporting would be an advantage.
