Job Description

As an Expeditor you will effectively action the flow of materials and finish parts in line with the production plan. You willestablish a good working relationship with all production departments and action the flow of materials and parts in a timelymanner. You will be efficient in identifying and expediting solutions to any issues or delays based on discussions with the Production Manager.Our commitment to you will be to ensure that you always have the best support and the opportunity for professional and career development within the business.Duties include:

  • Discussing plans with the Production Manager and expediting the agreed plan
  • Ensuring the flow of materials and parts is effectively maintained and to the agreed production plan
  • Measuring performance of flow against agreed plan
  • Managing WIP in real-time, ensuring the plan stays on track
  • Raising any issues to the attention of the Production Manager
  • Controlling availability, location and timing for all materials and parts within the build
  • Carrying out the movement of materials and parts to meet required workflow and plans
  • Providing feedback reports as required by the Production Manager or Operations Director
  • Helping to drive improvements within the organisation
  • Helping to ensure the general tidiness of parts and materials within the production environment
Role Requirements:
  • Helping to issue workflow sheets and drawings as required
  • Moving materials and parts to the required locations
  • Ensuring all materials, parts and project batches are clearly identified and marked
  • Working with the Production Manager and Operations Director with ongoing development projects, including the engagement of technology using Access Supply Chain and Orchestrate
  • Monitoring the receiving, movement and dispatching of stock/materials in association with Purchasing team
  • Being involved in all related systems and effectively implementing agreed improvements
  • Providing written and verbal reports to Production Manager and Operations Director when requested
Skill Requirements:
  • FLT driving license
  • Good numerical skills, logical and detailed approach to problem solving
  • IT experience, particularly with Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent planning skills
Personal Requirements:
  • An ability to develop good working relationships with all departments in order to work collectively to meeting production plans
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Must have experience of working within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Experience in reading production drawings is required
  • Must have an awareness of Lean Manufacture and Bottleneck Planning and WIP Control
  • Must be capable of problem solving to expedite material and parts flow issues
Job Type: DayshiftSalary: between 26,000 and 28,000
