Location: CramlingtonSalary: £25-£35k - depending on experience levelStatus: PermanentThe Role:Our client is a leading developer and installer of architectural systems for the UK property services industry. They are currently looking to strengthen their commercial team with an Estimator, who would join a small existing team, supporting customer enquiriesin the Aluminium Architectural facade sector.Developing the estimating department to meet new challenges of the architectural façade market will be key to success for the company. Communicating with the management team and attending internal sales/estimating meetings, as well as visiting the fabricationfacility and customers to build relationships will be extremely important.Duties will include:• Review enquiry and project requirements so that there is a good understanding on what is to be estimated. • Attend project meeting with customers where necessary.• Organise project files with internal and external information.• Attend sales meeting to provide updates/progress on projects within the quote bank.• Produce quotations quickly and accurately.• Produce accurate material take offs utilising system specific software packages.• Liaise with material suppliers regarding technical matters and issues.• Contact customers with queries and feedback on outstanding quotations.• Liaise with Aluminium production department to process orders and resolve queries.• Help develop customer base with the sales team.The Person:• Candidates should ideally posses previous experience as an aluminium estimator for aluminium windows, doors and curtain walling. However, consideration will be given to individuals interested in pursuing a career in this area providing there is relevant industrialexperience to draw from either in estimating or Aluminium/UPVC/Composite facade or Window/Door design/manufacture or installation. • Experienced candidates should have good technical knowledge in aluminium windows, doors and/or curtain walling.• Experienced candidates should have a successful track record in pricing aluminium systems and winning large orders. • Experienced candidates should be able to use multiple system house’ pricing software packages (Logikal, Schucal, Tech Design etc) and be able to read and understand Architectural and technical drawings, and be confident to discuss these with customers, aswell as the technical and production departments.• Very good organisational skills.• Have good computer skills with experience and understanding of Microsoft office software packages. AutoCAD experience would be advantageous.• Good telephone manor and skills.• Be hard working, have a positive ’can do’’ attitude, with the ability to communicate and motivate others.• Have a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) grade A-C.• Be eager to develop knowledge and attend internal and external training.
