Job Description

Central Employment is working with an industry-leading manufacturing company within Cramlington; they are looking for an Electrical Shift Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. If you are an engineer electrically biased engineer looking for anew opportunity within Cramlington, reach out today.Job Title:Electrical Shift Maintenance TechnicianLocation:Cramlington, NorthumberlandResponsibilities:

  • Work autonomously with dayshift support – Dayshift Technicians and Mechanical Fitters.
  • Undertake reactive breakdown diagnosis and repair.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities as per maintenance schedules.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all Maintenance plant and equipment issues based on a continental shift pattern
  • Participate in project work, including installing and commissioning new equipment, machine modifications, improvement works,
  • Participate in Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain equipment logs and shift handovers.
  • Work with the computerised maintenance management system and Maintenance of work records.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors
  • Implement Permit to Work System
  • Ensure safe isolation of plant and equipment.
Required Skills/Strengths:
  • Time served Electrically biased Technician
  • Experience in PLC’s HMI/MMI, particularly Allen Bradley, with a solid ability to interrogate PLC coding
  • Experience in AC and DC variable speed drives
  • Experience in working in Hazardous areas is preferable
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ideally, a minimum of an HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Work under pressure and often on their own
