An Electrical Engineer specialising in Grid Connectivity is sought to assist in the development of 50-100MW energy storage sitesYou will be responsible for providing grid-based consultancy support to our clients and internal team working on renewable energy projects with the aim of becoming a Team Manager within a 3-5 year periodKey responsibilities will include The Electrical Design of Electrical Grid Connections and working with DNOs and National Grid on the development of new multi-MW energy storage sites and advising on the construction process, investigating, and advising on, new battery technical, policy and financial developments and identifying sites where low carbon technologies and energy storage systems could possibly connect for in-house or client projects.You will also manage budget enquiry applications for low carbon and storage technologies, formal grid connections applications for low carbon and storage technologies and negotiate the reduction of contestable and non-contestable costs of connections. In addition to this you will support various R&D Projects and undertake consultancy on grid infrastructure for energy storage and renewable energy systemsEssential qualifications, experience and skillsThe successful candidate will have experience of working within a DNO, IDNO or ICP and a high level of experience of 11kV to 400kV UK grid & grid connections and an understanding and genuine interest in renewable energy. You will be methodical with good attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good technical report writing skills. You will have experience of managing projects to time, quality & cost and reviewing schematic drawings and verifying on-site equipment.A full driving licence and the flexibility to travel to customer sites throughout the UK is essential as are good written and verbal presentation skills.BENEFITS AVAILABLEBenefits include 25 days annual leave & 8 bank holidays, minimum 5% employee pension contribution matched by employer up to 10%, life assurance, company mobile phone & laptop, good long term progression prospects.Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 (depending on experience & qualifications)Working hours: 37 hours/weekThis is an exciting role within a growing Energy based Engineering Consultancy.
