Job Description

My client in Cramlington is looking for an experienced Band 6 Haematology/Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist for a locum contract.Job Role:

  • Monday- Friday
  • 37.5 h/week
  • The post holder will practice as a registered Biomedical Scientist in the Haematology /Blood Transfusion Department, working as part of a team in the provision of a high quality diagnostic service to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust and General Practitioners.They will also participate in the supervision, training and development of Trainee Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners and Medical Laboratory Assistants.
  • To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coachingto promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
Qualifications and Experience required:
  • HCPC registered as a BMS
  • Specialist portfolio with satisfactory assessment by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).
  • Evidence of CPD
