My client is a leading Engineering business based in Northumberland.As a result of business demands, the company is looking to recruit an experienced Applications Engineer to work in a dynamic technical team.The role: Develop and release new products and other systems, on time, to budget, technical and cost requirements. Act as a primary technical interface for customers and the operations teams. To identify and provide customers with innovative solutions, that will add value to their own products and increase occupant safety. Works in partnership with the site GM-Assisting with customer visits and technical presentations-Supporting Purchasing to identify and source suppliers and materials.-Own and provide Key Performance Indicators, reports and information relating to the role.-Achieves agreed goals and objectives. Supports other functions (Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Project Management) in order to deliver cost effective solutions and NPI, to meet/exceed customer and regulatory requirements, in a specified timeframe. Continually develops in-depth technical knowledge of all company manufacturing processes and products with an understanding of their potential in the global marketplace. Understanding of all statutory requirements, regulations and standards relating to products and their applications. Works closely with FEA, Engineering, CAPE, QA and 3rd party testing facilities to ensure full validation of all products and systems. Builds solid relationships with customers through all forms of efficient communication, including frequent visits throughout the UK and overseas. Attends trade shows and events in order to promote company and generate new business. Within the engineering team work with the Manufacturing/Quality Engineer to support development of production processes/controls and to also deputise in their absence in order to support all day-to-day manufacturing functions, where appropriate. Proficient use of Solidworks 3D CAD and other business systems, to develop, communicate and innovate products.Qualification RequirementsEducation and/or ExperienceDegree in an Engineering disciplineExperienceMinimum 5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing organisation.Experience of working directly and confidently with customers and OEMs at all organizational levels.Excellent experience of using APQP/DFMEA/Stage-gate to drive design and validation requirements for NPI.Demonstrate an ability to manage multiple complex projects, concurrently.Technical/Computer SkillsHighly proficient use of Solidworks 3D CAD.Role will involve using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Oracle ERP.
