For more information on the EnvironmentAgency and what we do, please visit: aboutusJob Description Were looking for a part time (18.5hrs possibly more depending on work volume) Administration Support Officer to assist with the day-to-day operation of a busy Depot and its team. The team is predominantly field-based, but youll be a crucial part of theoffice-based staff that manage their work.Youll play a central part in the operation of the Depot as the main point of contact for visitors, correspondence and office supplies. Youll support Team Leaders with the management of their teams by entering and maintaining records, purchasing servicesand equipment, and co-coordinating appointments such as meetings, training and travel bookings.The TeamOur Operations Field Teams work at the front line of flood risk management. Their primary role is to provide emergency response to flooding. When theyre not responding to emergencies, they carry out a busy programme of construction and maintenance workon our rivers to ensure they are in a condition that prevents flooding. Its a rewarding department to work in, at the forefront of saving properties and lives.Experience/skills requiredYoull have experience in providing administrative support in a busy office environment, or similar transferable skills. As the main point of contact for visitors and calls, youll have good customer-facing skills. Other essential skills in this role aremanaging your workload, working as part of a team, and communicating effectively in speech and writing. Youll also have excellent IT skills as a large proportion of the role involves using computer systems, such as spreadsheets, databases and web-applications.Experience of computer-based procurement/purchasing systems will be an advantage.Additional information and working patterns Due to business requirements, the team work a 9 day fortnight with fixed hours of 07:30 - 16:15. There is some flexibility with regards the hours for this post however. This can be discussed prior to application and finalised with the successful candidate.Some infrequent travel to other offices in the area may be required.
