Job Description

A Tooling Design Engineer position has become available, within a business that supplies revolutionary technology to the ever changing Automotive industry. As they work through a huge period of growth, this award winning company is looking to expand itsvarious teams, including additional Process Engineering and Design staff.The successful professional will be responsible for the ongoing design of tooling and fixtures on site, whilst liaising with the shop floor and production engineering staff on manufacturing concerns.In return, youll receive company incentives such as flexible working hours and personal development opportunities.Tooling Design Engineer duties include -

  • Design simple hand operating fixtures, through to more complex automated multifunction fixtures and tooling.
  • Support resolutions of manufacturing based concerns relevant to new processes, new products, productivity, waste, quality and safety.
  • Technical support for quoting new & modification of tooling and equipment.
  • Establish, review and maintain accurate product routings and time standards on the companys Priority ERP system.
  • Analyse and produce processing time estimates for the manufacture of future products.
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Manager to reduce plant / equipment failures.
Desirable skills/experience/attributes -
  • Experience in a similar position (Design of assembly fixtures and tooling).
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and pressure vessels would be an advantage.
  • Relevant engineering education and/or training.
