Job Description

Salary:£highly competitive + valuable benefits About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist In-Situ Testing Technicianto join an enthusiastic team delivering pressuremeter and cone penetrationtesting servicesboth internally and to a wide range of clients across the UK with the UKsnumber one testing, inspection and compliance company.Excellent opportunities exist for role development and career progression for those willing to learn. A willingness to travel anywhere in the UK and stay away from home during the week is an essentialpart of the role.Client focused and quality driven, we are a leading provider of Infrastructure Services. Now we need an In Situ Testing Technician to join our small specialist field team to deliver pressuremeter testing services and develop skills. The department will bestationed at SOCOTEC Central, Coventry but the role will involve site work occurring throughout the UK. You will be involved in the growing area of In Situ Testing, using your previous experience in this area to deliver the following:

  • Pressuremeter testing using Self Boring Pressuremeter (SBP), High Pressure Dilatometer (HPD), and Cone Pressuremeter (RPM), including calibrationto relevant BS EN ISO standards and maintenance of associated ancillary items
  • Adhere to all SOCOTEC Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and site specific H&S requirements at all times
  • Work with managers and site engineers to ensure field work is delivered safely and efficiently whilst maintaining high quality standards
  • Production of test data and preliminary testing graphs by using proprietary software produced by Cambridge In-Situ on a daily basis
About you: Were looking for a professional, dynamic and motivated individual with ability to work alone and as part of a team.Communicative, organised, flexible and committed, you must also have:
  • Practical hands on skills with drilling/testing equipment,keen to learn with an emphasis on accuracy
  • A full,clean UK Driving Licence
  • Flexiblityand willingness to travel across the UK with regular weekday periods spent away from home
  • Experience of or ambition to perform Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) using piezocone and other associated devices from a variety of rig platforms to UKAS standards, including calibration and maintenance
