Job Description

Could you be our clients next Technical Manager This Coventry-based aluminium treatment specialist has over 75 years of heritage and is looking for an experienced individual to join their on-site management team.Technical ManagerCoventry, CV2 5DX

  • Full time, permanent
  • £38,000 per annum DoE
  • Must have metal finishing experience and chemistry background

Our clients superior technical knowledge is certainly no coincidence.They are specialists in Sulphuric, Chromic and Titanium Anodising; Nituff ; as well as SurTec 650 and Alocrom 1200 conversion coatings.An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to take on a rewarding Technical Manager role with the clients on-site management team.The Role:As Technical Manager, you will:
  • Work with the management team, staff and consultants to ensure production processes meet internal, customer, national and international standards.
  • Provide hands-on practical support to solve technical or quality issues.
  • Supervise the running of the laboratories.
  • Attend national and international trade shows, conferences and anodising sites to bring best practice to the UK.
  • Liaise with customers pre- and post-sales with technical assistance.
  • Identify and implement agreed practices to reduce waste.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained to required standards.
  • Provide training, tools and techniques at individual or group level to employees and managers.
  • Work with chemicals, test equipment and computers.
  • Follow strict health and safety (COSHH).
The client is willing to consider any suitable candidates currently in a deputy level role who are looking for the next step in their career.The Ideal CandidateTo be eligible for this fantastic Technical Manager role, it would be advantageous for you to have:
  • Higher-level qualifications in science, chemistry, engineering or technical subjects.
  • Proven laboratory work experience, quality and environmental management systems (ISO9000, ISO 14001), health & safety and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and well with customers.
  • Ability to work to a high standard of accuracy, numeracy and record keeping.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office packages (Word, Excel etc.).
Ideally, you should:
  • Be a trained electroplating chemist.
  • Have professional qualifications.
  • Have experience in the anodising/surface finishing sector.
  • Be comfortable managing change.
  • Be willing to travel for training/conferences.
  • Have a general interest in scientific research.
