This role will work on best practices, methods, standards, processes, people and organisation, hardware and software tools. As the Systems DesignEngineer you will be responsible for delivering System Engineering work products (LAD, F-SRD, FRDs ) as well as delivering MATLAB Model Based Designs and agreeing requirements and scope with the suppliers.Key responsibilities will include:Assist and support the development of tools and methodologies to support the calibration and validation of the engine control systemWork to ensure capable, robust and documented methods across all attributes and systems supporting robust and optimised designSupport the development of capable, efficient, standardised and automated simulation processesWork on ensuring Jaguar Land Rover has capable, effective and sustainable software and hardware component tools to support the calibration and engine control systemWork on ensuring hardware is capable of supporting future simulation capacity and performance requirementsContribute to the test data acquisition, management and automated reportingCoordinate simulation capability improvement projectsAssist in providing test automation capability for Hardware in the Loop and Software in the Loop environmentsWHAT YOULL NEEDAs the System Design Engineer, you will have good relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment within the automotive sector. Previous experience of working in a controls and calibration in modelling complex systems, ideally vehicle and/orPowertrain systems.ESSENTIALHold a formal qualification such as degree within, Systems Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or another relevant subject.MATLAB, Simulink and Simulink Projects, ExcelA good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideasDESIRABLEKnowledge of Powertrain calibration and controls, ideally to a detailed levelExperience of AVL MoBEO, CAMEO, Cruise and GT Power, ETAS Intecrio, Flow and INCA, programming (Python C, C++), MS Visual Studio and scripting skillsSO WHY USBring all this to the home of premium innovation, and youll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performancerelated bonus scheme.
