Job Description

Location: Coventry Distribution Centre, CV3 4PBJob Type: Full-time, permanentHours: 40 hours per weekShift Pattern: Monday to Friday (0900-1800)flexibility around working hours will be requiredSalary: CompetitiveSHEQ COORDINATORMenzies Distribution are looking for a bright, resourceful and organised SHEQ Coordinator to join our team. Youll be working on behalf of Menzies Distribution Limited and its customers. Providing a first-class service with our team in Coventry, this roleis based on a basic 40-hour week working Monday to Friday.Health & safety will be your primary focus, of course, as will things like preparing data, presenting health & safety updates to site based leadership, supporting Regional SHEQ Business Partners to develop processes and coaching our operational colleagues.But, truly great stakeholder management will be your main aim.Relevant COVID-19 precautions will be taken during the recruitment process for this roleLooking for a shift we havent mentioned Were happy to offer flexibility regarding shifts and hours wherever possible.Get in touch today to discuss how Menzies Distribution can work with you.SHEQ COORDINATOR DUTIES

  • Provide all employees with SHEQ related training and induction training, co-ordinate, monitor and ensure risk assessments and safe systems of work are regularly reviewed and updated
  • Develop and always maintains a professional working relationship with employees at all levels and promote exceptional standards
  • Promote and raise health & safety awareness and culture across all locations
  • Take part in the BRCGS audits every year and support in achieving the best standards possible
  • Provide support and advice to all areas of the site as required on SHEQ related issues
  • Carry out accident investigations and produce reports which identify causes and actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Ensure quality of accident/incident/near miss reporting and investigation within the site
  • Analyse all accident data to identify trends and introduce safe controls where appropriate. Develop and maintain health and safety audits
  • Review/Produce risk assessments and all other health and safety documentation as necessary
  • Organise and attend SHEQ meetings/calls relevant to role
  • Conduct stop & search security checks
  • Report security statistics for the NDC to the wider business
  • Assist loss prevention in security matters arising in the NDC
REQUIREMENTS
  1. Minimum of 3 years previous experience in a health and safety capacity
  2. Experience of working within a BRCGS accredited environment is ideal
  3. Interest in working towards your NEBOSH qualification or equivalent (if not already achieved)
  4. Keen to learn and develop in all areas of SHEQ (safety, health, environment and quality)
  5. An ability to handle responsibility and keep calm under pressure
  6. Able to research, understand, relay and implement regulatory information, verbally and written to internal and external sources.
  7. Able to use Microsoft, Excel & MS Word
