Job Description

Role title: Service Design ExecutiveSalary: £30,000-£35,000Location: UK (based at your nearest RinP office)Reports to: Service Design Lead Do you have experience implementing large-scale projects within the IT sectorHave you previously assisted with varied service design activities throughout implementationIf so, then this Service Design Executive role with Reed in Partnership could be for you!We are on a mission to be the partner of choice for developing people and their communities. Reed in Partnership is a public service provider specialising in skills training for the long-term unemployed, increasing employment opportunities by working with employersand providing youth services.Please note this is a Fixed term contract for 18.5 months starting in April 2024.What is the role aboutThe role of Service Design Executive is to support the Service Design Lead to ensure a successful implementation of a large-scale project. Reporting to the Service Design Lead, you will assist with varied service design activities throughout the implementation,from contract award up to contract commencement. These are varied roles which will encompass service design & delivery, staff and partner training, research & analysis, preparing delivery materials, preparing reports, engaging with internal and external stakeholdersto ensure we have met our commitments from the commissioner.You will be required to regularly work with other departments and workstream leads during contract and project mobilisation, notably Operations, Finance, Business Intelligence, Systems and Compliance.Reed in Partnership requires the full commitment and cooperation of its employees to strictly adhere to company policies and procedures, which includes quality standards, data protection, health and safety, diversity and safeguarding.Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include;

  • Working with the Service Design Lead in delivering the timely and effective implementation of a programme, from bid submission through to contract commencement and optimisation
  • Assisting the Service Design Lead with the creation and maintenance of Implementation Plans amongst other project documentation
  • Support the Service Design Lead with the construction of delivery models and process maps and developing these in conjunction with internal stakeholders in Service Design workshops and weekly catch-up calls
  • Contribute with creative thinking and support in activities relating to Service Design
  • Designing and test new delivery methodology to improve performance and productivity.
  • Identification of improvements and best practice throughout the contract implementation process
  • Supporting the Service Design Lead with regular liaison to both internal and external stakeholders, providing regular project updates to all parties to achieve and progress project objectives
  • Identifying potential areas of contract risk and relaying this to the appropriate internal department
  • Supporting in identifying training requirements of the contract, creating, and assisting with the delivery of training to internal and external operational stakeholders
  • Designing operational guidance and process materials, and developing additional operational assets and tools where required

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with;Essential Criteria:
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of a service within large scale projects in IT.
  • Supported/assisted with the management of projects and comfortable working within project environments.
  • Been part of a service design team and involved in process mapping and assisting with the running of workshops.
  • Degree (or equivalent) including a minimum of 2 A levels, 5 GCSE’s A-C (With English language minimum grade B)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent visual communication and experience translating complex information into diagrammatic form.
  • Experience in the delivery of complex information to teams in presentation and/or training sessions/briefings
  • Understanding of contractual delivery ideally gained via service design or management/ technical/specialist/supervisory role.
  • Ability to liaise effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland to support implementations/projects in different geographies
