Job Description

Senior Project Manager (Financial Services) - 38479Pay Rate: up to £385.84/day Ltd Umbrella (inside IR35)Division:FinanceContract Position based at:WhitleyPosition Description:The Senior Project Manager role is an exciting new opportunity to join a small but experienced Financial Services (FS) team. The objective of the Project Manager role is to lead and take ownership of delivery of large strategic change initiatives to ensurethe sustainable achievement of the Financial Services long term targets.The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project management on assigned strategic projects, including, but not limited to, project definition, project plans, conducting meetings, documenting requirements, overseeing development,testing, and implementation. This senior level position applies a detailed knowledge of the business, technology, and systems development life cycle to produce successful projects.Reporting to the Global FS Head of Strategic Partnerships & Projects, this is a chance to play a lead role in what is a relatively small team within a large established global company. The successful candidate will also need to work closely with internaldepartments and FS partners to proactively drive vehicle sales & customer loyalty through financial services.Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures the GFS project objectives are aligned with strategic objectives using business cases, project submissions and/or other supporting documentation.
  • Follow Project Management Methodology, including documented policies and processes, in developing detailed project plans and completing required project documentation.
  • Planning for projects using gap analysis, requirements gathering and other scoping exercises as well as preparing time and budget estimations, risk mitigation plans and other preliminary project planning activities.
  • Executes projects using the project delivery process and consistent with project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develops project resource strategies, tools, and specialised support necessary to maintain project momentum, control project constraints (scope, schedule, costs, quality) and reach project milestones.
  • Manage communication to Project Owner, Sponsor, Strategy & PMO and key stakeholders and ensure changes/impacts to the project status, timeline, cost and risk is communicated in a timely manner.
  • Ensure project schedules, delays, issues, risks and changes to projects are recorded in the project management system for future reporting.
  • Provide effective direction to project team members and integrates activities with other departments to ensure successful implementation with minimal disruption on operations.
  • Ensure project status report and templates are maintained up to date and accurate and circulated to stakeholders on agreed upon schedule.
  • Investigate and escalate project issues as required to ensure issues are effectively resolved to minimise impact to project timeline.
  • Develop risk management plan at project initiation and maintain throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prioritise and manage own workload and the workload of project team members in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines.
  • Facilitate Project Management status meetings with Programme Manager, GFS Director and Project Sponsor
  • Deputise for the Global FS Programme Manager as appropriate
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role in Project Management with track record of successful delivery with the experience or knowledge of the Agile project management framework.
  • Proven experience of stakeholder management at all levels
  • Professional history demonstrating delivery of Large/Complex Business Change Projects throughout the entire lifecycle within Automotive Financial Services / Regulatory Projects
  • Methodical detailed approach to work
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base
  • Ability to manage significant risks and issues
  • Negotiation and adaptability
Preferred:
  • Stakeholder Management expertise, specifically the ability to confidently advise and influence senior stakeholders
  • Commercially astute with an ability to understand the business function that this role supports
  • An individual who enables speed in decision making through establishing alignment, clarity, appropriate resources and sense of urgency whilst bringing others along
Education:
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • A recognised project, programme, PMO or portfolio qualification e.g. Prince 2, MSP, P3O, PPSO, APMP, PMP or PMI
