Job Description

Are you an experienced Senior Project ManagerDo you have a good understanding of Project Management principles and methodologies If so, then consider the role of Senior Project Manager with Reed in Partnership.Role Title: Senior Project ManagerSalary: £65,000 - £75,000Location: UK based - remote with occasional (fully expensed) office visitsFixed Term Contract – April 2024 to July 2025 with possible extensionReports to: Implementation DirectorReed in Partnership is a public service provider delivering a range of services that transform people and their communities. These services are delivered across our Assessment, Employability, Wellbeing, Citizen Services and Environment divisions.Our Reed Assessment division, a national provider of trusted and secure testing and assessments, is planning for the significant expansion of its testing operations during 2024. We are currently bidding for the delivery, on behalf of the Standards and TestingAgency (STA), of Key Stage 1 & 2 testing to all Primary School students in England. Securing this multi-million pound contract would see Reed Assessment responsible, directly and through its supply chain partners, for the production, distribution, markingand moderating of all key stage tests across Primary Schools.We are now looking to build an experienced implementation and delivery team ready to successfully mobilise this contract from April 2024.Please note this is a Fixed term contract for 15.5 months starting in April 2024.Please note, expensed travel including potential overnight stays will be expected at key points of the implementation cycle, the frequency of which will vary. What is the role aboutReed in Partnership is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering complex projects/contract implementations on time, within budget, and tothe highest quality standards.The STA project is implementing the administration, delivery and marking of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 tests in Primary Schools in the UK. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the key workstreams within the implementationplan, including reporting to the delivery partners and internal stakeholders.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering projects in a fast-paced environment, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including numerous third-party supplychain partners.Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the development of policies, procedures, assurance, and project governance (including risk management), including overseeing the submission of schedules to key stakeholders.
  • Influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels (including delivering complex information).
  • Develop and manage key documentation including our Knowledge Management Strategy through the creation of a repository of best practice documentation that ensure consistency and quality are safeguarded.
  • Prepare project budgets based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Prepare and present documentation to a range of stakeholders including steering committees to provide progress updates, risk and issue reporting and recommendations on the project.
  • Lead meetings with project workstream stakeholders holding them to account for progress against their plans and actions.
  • Maintain and update the Project governance framework and associated template documents.
  • Travel to the West Midlands region (Birmingham) will be expected at key points of the implementation cycle, the frequency of which will vary.

  • Degree (or equivalent).
  • Good experience and knowledge of project management principles (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile) and governance, including planning, stakeholder management, communication and risk and issue management.
  • First class communication skills with ability to influence.
  • Demonstrate experience of managing the implementation and ongoing delivery of a complex large-scale project.
  • Proven track record of delivering large scale projects on time.
  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage.
  • Travel, when required, as part of the role.
